FINANCIAL HARDSHIP
Types of financial support that could be provided to players:
Discounted fees
– half fee for half season of play but still qualify for finals
– no fee if play less than half a season
– no fee if just training with a team
– in cases of genuine financial hardship demonstrated to the committee, a level of discount
– waiver or discount in case of bereavement detailed to committee
– offer of payment plan where in financial difficulty but believe should pay full fees and continues to play past cutoff date
Possible criteria for financial support for players:
– a refugee who has little or no means of financial support
– a refugee who has limited English
– a player from a broken home where there are financial issues between the parents
– a player who can show a sudden change of financial circumstances such as loss of job in single income family, loss of vehicle
– bereavement in family and parent demonstrates to committee financial insecurity
